
The Fort Stephenson Bicentennial celebration will be a multi-level event with activities for a broad range of participants.
A battle re-enactment will take place at the original site of the fort, with American and British soldiers
and Native American warriors participating. There will be two presentations on Saturday and one on Sunday.
The re-enactors will constantly be on hand for demonstrations and presentations of arms.
American military history will be presented in a multi-media format, artifacts displays and video displays will running
throughout the length of the weekend. This will be located in the historical Flag Park, across the street from the fort site.
There will also be heritage tours to discover some of the other local historical events.
Period activities will be taking place in multiple locations, children's activities will be held at the Birchard Library,
which is also located at the original site, other activities will be taking place on the battle field between re-enactments.
There will be street vendors selling large varieties of foods and beverages to enjoy along with crafters, both modern and period,
as well as a host of crafters and period sutlers offering various wares
A beer tent will also be located near the festival site for those times when something stronger is desired.
There will be a grand parade on Saturday evening and the night will end with a spectacular fireworks display.
